Robert Bohannon retires as Viad Corp chairman

Robert Bohannon retired as chairman of Viad Corp Monday with President and CEO Paul B. Dykstra taking over the top board spot Tuesday.

The Phoenix marketing and recreation services firm (NYSE:VVI) had previously announced the succession plans.

Bohannon has headed Viad since 1997.

"Since becoming chairman of the board in 1997, Bob's expertise has been invaluable to Viad," said Jess Hay, presiding director of Viad. "He has been an outstanding leader, an extraordinary mentor for our officers and employees, and an inspiration to the entire corporate family same day payday loans. He will be greatly missed," said Hay.

Dykstra has been with the company since 1984 when he joined Travelers Express and later joined another Viad subsidiary, GES Exposition Services. He was named president and CEO of GES in 2000. In January 2006, Dykstra was appointed chief operating officer of Viad. In April 2006, he was named president and CEO and elected to Viad's board of directors.
