Grand View, Lehigh Valley hospitals open center in Quakertown

Grand View Hospital and Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network are opening their $9 million collaborative medical facility, the Upper Bucks Health & Diagnostic Center, Wednesday afternoon.

The 38,063-square-foot center in Quakertown, Pa., brings together primary and specialty-care services offered by each hospital.

Among the services are primary care for children and adults; obstetrics and gynecology services; spine and orthopedic care; physical and occupational therapy for adults and children; speech therapy for children; and specialty-care consultations for diabetes and endocrinology, general surgery, pediatric surgery and surgical oncology.

The center was established at the Quakertown Plaza Shopping Center on Route 309 payday loans. It will employ about 70 people. Hospital officials expect to provide care to 50,000 patients at the facility during its first year.

Grand View is a 272-bed hospital in Sellersville, Pa. The Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network of Allentown, Pa., operates three hospitals and six health centers across the Lehigh Valley.
