Comcast division buys Vehix.com

Written on February 12, 2008

Comcast Spotlight said Monday it has acquired all of Vehix.com for an undisclosed sum.

The advertising sales division of Comcast Cable Communications Inc. already had a stake in Vehix, which provides information to car buyers and sellers over the Internet to computer and mobile phone users and via on-demand and other programming to cable-TV subscribers.

Comcast Spotlight bought the portion of Vehix it didn't own from a shareholder group led by the Ken Garff Automotive Group, a chain of car dealers that, like Vehix, is based in Salt Lake City paydayloans.

Comcast Spotlight is based in New York. Comcast Cable runs the cable-TV operations of Comcast Corp., which also provides high-speed Internet access and phone service. Comcast Cable and Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA,CMCSK) are based in Philadelphia.
